Getting to La Isleta / Calle Albareda 101 from Airport
If you haven’t rented a car for your vacation, you can of course take a taxi to Las Palmas (approx. €40), or take the blue bus, line 60, to Las Palmas, Santa Catalina (approx. €3). From the Santa Catalina bus station (underground), you can either change to the yellow bus, line 12 (pay for a new ticket with the driver using a credit card) and travel three stops to “Mercado del Puerto,” or walk a good 10 minutes to the apartment. The house is directly opposite the Mercado del Puerto.
Arriving by car
After picking up your car, take the GC-1 motorway towards Las Palmas de GC. The apartment is easy to find. Just stay on the GC-1 (towards Las Palmas / Puerto) until the ‘Calle Pérez Muñoz’ exit (this is an exit through a tunnel). Via C. Juan Rejón, you will reach C. Albareda, where you turn left. Please note that Calle Albareda is a one-way street and the traffic situation is somewhat complicated when returning to the apartment once you have passed it.
Unloading your luggage
There is a bus stop right in front of the front door, so parking is not allowed there. If there happens to be a parking space available right at the beginning of Calle Albareda, it is best to turn right into Calle Tenerife (a pedestrian zone) and park there briefly to unload your luggage and bring it into the apartment. Please do not park there for longer than 5 minutes and then take your car to the parking garage. Driving back to the house from the parking garage can take 15-20 minutes, as you first have to drive one kilometer towards the city and then back via the highway.
Parking
Free parking for you
Exploring the island by car is very convenient, especially if you want to discover the inland areas. We have some recommendations for car rental companies (see below). In addition, free parking is available for our guests on request in the nearby parking garage at Calle Albareda 55-57 (Parking Albareda Canteras).

Parking in town and when you’re out and about
Traffic in Las Palmas is quite heavy and finding a parking space is usually a matter of luck. If there is a parking garage near your destination, it is best to park there. Otherwise, pay attention to the colored stripes on the side of the road!
White markings = parking permitted
Blue markings = paid parking zone
Yellow markings: no parking
Green markings = resident parking
Illegal parking is regularly monitored and towed away in Spain.
Please do not leave any valuables in your car.

The apartment faces east, and the sun shines intensely there, especially in the morning. Otherwise, enjoy the wonderful view over the port of Las Palmas, especially in the evening.

IMPORTANT: Safety
The balcony is not suitable for children. Our guests are responsible for their own safety and that of their children.
Hot outside - Cool inside
We installed air conditioning in the apartment in June 2025 so that you can feel comfortable in the apartment even in the height of summer. Please read how to keep the apartment cool and use the air conditioning.
Use the curtains to keep the morning heat outside
The balcony door has a blackout curtain and is equipped outside with external blinds or roller shutters that can be lowered or raised using the band at the right of the balcony door. Keep the curtains closed or lower the roller shutters to keep the morning sun from heating up the apartment.
How to use the air conditioner efficiently
The air conditioner is not intended for continuous operation, and when you leave the apartment, the air conditioner must be turned off.
Please only run the air conditioning for a maximum of 30 minutes at a time… The power consumption is very high!
The air conditioner control panel is located on the wall to the right of the balcony door.
Please close the balcony door whenever you turn on the air conditioning. And turn off the air conditioning when you relax on the balcony. Besides, the warm air blown out of the unit would spoil your enjoyment of the balcony.
IMPORTANT: Please do not block the air vents at the front of the unit on the balcony! Small items may be placed on top of the protective cover, but no heavy objects or standing on top of it.

How to turn on/off the ventillation in bedrooms
Ventilation in the two bedrooms is enabled by a quiet and effective ceiling fan that features an integrated lamp. The ceiling fan and light can be controlled with the white remote control. The remote has a Velcro hook and loop fastener on the back, and can be hung on the wall outside the bedroom, just inside the bedroom, and next to the bed.

Fully equipped kitchen - enjoy your breakfast and diner at home
The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for cooking or making coffee: refrigerator with separate freezer compartment, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, milk frother, electric kettle, toaster, smoothie maker, stove and oven. Please don't use the smoothie maker to crush ice cubes.
On the underside of the wall cabinets, there is a push switch on the left with three settings for switching on the light above the sink.

IMPORTANT: please don't interrupt the dishwaher
Select the desired program and start the washing cycle. The dishwasher is brand new, but unfortunately this brand has a quirk that we didn't know about before purchasing it. Once the dishwasher has started, you must NOT interrupt the washing cycle manually! You must wait until the cycle has completed and the door opens automatically to vent. If the washing cycle is interrupted by opening the door before this, there is a high risk that the relay that controls the programs will be disabled and the dishwasher will no longer work. Replacing the relay costs a good €100. Unfortunately, we would have to charge you for these repair costs, and we want to avoid that if possible.
This doesn't belong into the dish washer: Please wash frying pans and the bamboo cutting board by hand. This smoothie blender bottle is dishwasher safe.
How to turn on the stove
The induction stove is turned on by pressing and holding the “On” symbol at the bottom right. If the key symbol on the left is activated (red), simply press it for a few seconds. It will then be unlocked.

Mirror, mirror on the wall
The bathroom is also fully equipped. You will find a hair dryer in the cabinet under the sink. On the back of the rotating mirror cabinet on the left-hand side, you will find additional storage space for cosmetics, etc.
How to use the washing machine and dryer
The washing machine is also a dryer. Please select the appropriate program. There are also programs that only wash or only dry. You may need to purchase washing powder yourself at the supermarket.
You will find a collapsible clothes rack on the balcony, on top of the air conditioner.
Get ready for the gala
Each bedroom has a large wardrobe for your clothes and enough hangers to hang up your coats, dresses, and shirts.
An ironing board is next to the wardrobe in the first bedroom. The iron is in the same wardrobe.
Log in and surf
The password for Wi-Fi access is available as a QR code and located in a picture frame on a table in the living room.
Cinema at home
You are welcome to activate your own Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Disney channels on the TV. Please remember to log out and delete your accounts before departure so that guests who come after you cannot continue to use your accounts.
Please use water wisely
Please use water sparingly. Gran Canaria is an island with few freshwater sources of its own. Most of the water has to be treated in desalination plants. Please avoid taking long showers and turn off the tap when brushing your teeth.
The first bottle of drinking water is on us
The tap water is suitable for cooking, but please only drink water that has been boiled first. It is best to buy drinking water in 5-liter canisters from the supermarket and use it to make coffee in the Nespresso machine or tea.
There is a red shopping trolley, so that heavy things need not be carried. You will find the “Hackenporsche” in the second bedroom to the left of the blue wardrobe.
Clean is beautiful
The apartment will be cleaned and prepared as thoroughly as possible before your arrival so that you can feel completely at home during your stay. If you want to sweep up sand from the beach or other debris during your stay, you will find a broom, dustpan, and mop in the bathroom next to the washing machine and on the open shelf, or under the sink in the kitchen.
Extra cleaning service on demand
The cleaning service can be hired during your stay for room service (cleaning, change of sheets and towels, removal of rubbish and provision of toilet paper).
The price of the additional room service is 60,00 € (tax included)
Fridge empty again?
Directly opposite the apartment, to the left of the market hall, is a SPAR supermarket, and around the corner (on Calla Sagasta) is a larger SuperDino supermarket.
The Mercado del Puerto mainly has stalls selling delicious tapas and wine, as well as a few vendors selling fruit and fresh fish.
Otherwise, there are many smaller cafés and bars in the immediate vicinity, as well as retail stores and a pharmacy.
All major supermarket chains such as Mercadona, Spar, Carrefour, Lidl, and Superdino are present in the city. Use Google Maps to find the nearest store.
The central market in Mesa y Lopez offers the best fresh produce at fair prices.
Scan the QR code to view the location.

Darling, could you please bring down the garbage?
In Gran Canaria, waste is separated and recycled. Please note that during your stay, you are responsible for disposing your own garbage, especially on the day of departure. Large garbage containers are located on the street, approximately 50 meters to the left and right of the apartment building.
Black, Green, Blue or Yellow? What goes where
The black bins are for general waste, the green ones for glass, the blue ones for paper and cardboard, and the yellow bins are for plastic bottles and packaging.
Broken pieces bring good luck - as long you are honest about it
If a glass breaks or there is any major damage, please inform our manager Marcos so that we are aware of the situation and can find a quick solution if necessary.
Please also refer to the instructions for using the dishwasher. ▷ FAQ Kitchen
