Good weather, bad weather
The weather in Las Palmas is not always sunny. In the north of the island, clouds from the Atlantic sometimes gather and it can be windy. Please bring a light jacket or wind breaker just in case. In the south of the island, there is full sun almost every day and temperatures there can easily be 10 degrees warmer than in Las Palmas. However, the vegetation in the north of the island is much lusher and more colorful.
Without clouds, there simply wouldn't be such fantastic sunsets in Las Palmas, which can be seen almost every evening from Las Canteras beach. The best way to enjoy the sunset is with a sundowner at one of the beach bars, an evening stroll along the promenade (Paseo) and the view from La Puntilla of the sun sinking into the sea.
